Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This policy explains how Weartap (the "app") handles your information.

1. The short version

Everything you enter stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. The app has no server of its own, no account, no analytics, no ads and no crash reporting. The operator does not collect, see or sell your data.

2. Information the app stores and why

InformationPurposeWhere it is stored
Times you took your aligners out and put them back, your daily goal, tray numbers and change schedule, mode and notification settingsCalculating and showing out-time and wear time; reminders to put them back and to change traysOn your device and in your own iCloud (CloudKit private database)

Whether Pro or the trial is activeTurning Pro features on or offOn your device. Payment is handled by Apple's App Store

The app does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other identifying information, and there is no account to create.

3. iCloud sync and restore

If you are signed in to iCloud on your iPhone, your records and photos are saved automatically to your own private area of iCloud (CloudKit), provided by Apple Inc., and restored when you change phones or reinstall the app. Only your Apple ID can access this data; the operator cannot read or retrieve it. For how Apple handles iCloud data, see Apple's privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. If you are not signed in to iCloud, data stays on your device only.

4. Notifications

Reminders are local notifications created on your device. Nothing is sent to any server to deliver them.

5. Widgets, Live Activities, Control Center and shortcuts

The Lock Screen countdown, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, the Control Center control and the shortcuts (including Siri, the Action Button and NFC tags) all run on your device. A small summary of your current state is kept in a shared area on the device so the widgets can show it. None of this is sent anywhere.

6. Camera and photo library

The app uses the camera only when you choose to take a photo, and accesses only the photos you pick from your library.

7. Export and sharing

CSV export and sharing a comparison image happen only when you start them, and the files go to the destination you choose (Mail, AirDrop, another app and so on). The operator never receives them.

8. In-app purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store. The operator never receives your card or payment details.

9. Third parties

The operator does not share your information with third parties, except where required by law. The only outside service the app relies on is Apple's iCloud, described above.

10. Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device; this cannot be undone. Data saved to iCloud can be deleted on your iPhone under Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Weartap.

11. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may change when the app gains features or when the law changes. Significant changes will be announced in the app or on this page.
